Ready to race!

Taken from the Cornbread website
We are gearing up for the 2011 Race for the Cure this weekend!  It is such an amazing day, hot and tiring, but still amazing!  I am normally not a big crowd person, I get nervous and annoyed in big crowds, but this is the one exception!  You really do not meet a rude person, I guess because we are all there for one reason, to help fight/support breast cancer awareness!
Three years ago, Cassie asked Betty and I to participate in the race with her company and we have been hooked every since.  Last year and for years to come we race with one person in mind, Betty!  Our group; me, Brent, Cassie, Lacie, my mom, Brad, Tracie, Sofia, Betty, Zig, Kelsie, Klayton, Sherri and Dave, are all on Team Breadbird (WIL 92.3 and the St. Louis Cardinals teamed up together), but our sub team name is "Team Betty Jones!"  I would like to say that we race in honor of her.  This makes walking even more memorable, emotional, so many feelings/emotions wrapped up in one. Although we have to wake up early, walk in the heat, be in a huge crowd, did I mention walk in the heat?!? LOL!  It is still an amazing day!
I can't wait to share more pictures Monday of this years race!  I am super excited that Cornbread teamed up with the St. Louis Cardinals.  I can not wait to spend the day with ones that I love walking for a cure, walking for my mother in law, Betty!  We love you Betty!!

This is Brent, Betty and myself before the 2010 Race for the Cure!
Don't you just love the porta potty's in the back? LOL!
